More love from Europe! Distorted Soul 2.0 is now featured on the Dutch website Spotlight on R&B. Site publisher Monique van Royen introduces the latest releases (plus a few more that you may have missed) and keeps us up to date with the latest news from the world of R&B. The MP3 Page offers an opportunity to download music from new artists with more to come.

The site also ran a contest for viewers offering an opportunity to win a copy of NADIR's album Distorted Soul 2.0.

For 7 days starting on Monday, the 6th of June, 2005 "Slave" was featured on the GarageBand.com home page. The track was already selected as Funk Track of the Day on May 27, 2005. This is added to the growing list of awards NADIR has won for this composition including a finalist berth in the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest and Grammy Demo Contest Grand Prize Winner. "Daddy's Cane" Nominated for Best Original Song at Anti-Industry.com
NADIR's song "Daddy's Cane" was nominated for Best Original Song at www.anti-industry.com, a site dedicated to empowering independent musicians. Fourteen finalists were selected from entries at SonicBids.com. Finalists will be included on a compilation cd to be released in the Fall of 2004.

NADIR has become a favorite of the staff at Anti-Industry. Site administrator Kate Campbell posted the following to annouce her personal favorites for Best Original Song: "I absolutely positively loved NADIR's 'Slave' as top dog. It's the most original thing I've heard - a blend of genres with a killer power to the lyrics. I can't help but groove and dance when I hear it. Which is often. Unfortunately, I was outnumbered by judges who loved his other song 'Daddy's Cane' more."

The Talking Drum is the vanguard website of the global Pan-Afrikan community. Featuring links to web pages that won't be found on most search engines, Brother Jacuma Kambui's site is a wonderful source of information about the Afrikan liberation movement. In fact, NADIR used The Talking Drum's The Martyrs page as the primary source for The Revolution is Now (track 16) on the Distorted Soul album.

"Daddy's Cane" in September 2003 issue of
Mac Addict Magazine
The latest version of an old favorite got some play with Macintosh users. "Daddy's Cane" (Track 6), is featured on The Disc, a CD-ROM companion to the September issue of Mac Addict magazine.

Described by Nadir as "the prototypical Distorted Soul song", "Daddy's Cane" was originally recorded by Nadir's band, Jack Johnson, for their album, Round One. The latest incarnation of this Papa Jack classic was recorded, produced and performed by Neal Cappellino, Reavis Mitchell, Jack Johnson co-founder, Paul Cochrane and Nadir.
